A Closer Look

How Frameless (Euro-Style) Cabinets are actually built

Frameless construction — sometimes called "Euro-style" or "full-access" — drops the face frame entirely and attaches the door directly to the sides of the cabinet box. Without a frame taking up space at the front opening, you gain roughly an extra half-inch to inch of usable width per cabinet, and easier access into corners and deep drawers.

This construction style originated in European cabinetmaking (hence the nickname) and has become the standard for contemporary and minimalist kitchen design in the US as well. It pairs almost exclusively with full-overlay doors, since there's no frame to leave a reveal against.

Because there's no frame to absorb small imperfections in the wall or box, frameless cabinets rely more heavily on precise installation and leveling to keep door reveals consistent across a full run of cabinetry — something worth discussing with your installer regardless of which of our frameless lines you choose.
