180 Years of Wolf Home Products: What That History Means for You

Wolf has been building home products since 1843. Here's how that legacy shows up in their current cabinet lines.

When a company says they've been in business since 1843, it's worth asking what that actually means for a cabinet you're ordering today. Here's Wolf Home Products' real history and how it shows up in their current product line.

From a single lumber store to a national brand

Wolf started as a single store selling dry goods and lumber on the banks of Pennsylvania's Susquehanna River. By the mid-1900s it had grown into a mid-Atlantic wholesale and retail lumber operation with 30 locations, known as the Wolf Distributing Company.

The shift to a sourcing model

In the early 2000s, Wolf transitioned from operating its own lumber business into a sourcing organization — supplying kitchen, bath, and building products exclusively through independent building materials dealers, PoshHaus Cabinets among them.

Wolf-branded products arrive in 2010

That's when Wolf introduced its own product lines, including Wolf Trimboards and Mouldings and the first Wolf Classic cabinets. Today the company offers several cabinet lines — Wolf Artisan, Wolf Classic, Wolf Endeavor, Builders Mark, and Wolf Endurance — spanning builder-grade to premium, plus quartz and granite countertops and bath products.

What this means for you

Wolf now serves more than 3,500 dealers across the US and Canada, and is owned by parent company PrimeSource Brands. That scale means consistent supply and a wide style range, while the company's century-plus roots in building materials show up in construction details that go beyond a purely decorative product line.
