What Happens on Cabinet Delivery Day
Cabinet delivery involves more coordination than a typical furniture drop-off. Here's what to expect and how to prepare.
Cabinet delivery is a bigger logistical event than most furniture deliveries, especially for a full kitchen order. Here's what actually happens, and how to prepare your space.
Delivery is scheduled around your renovation timeline
We coordinate delivery timing with your contractor's schedule, not just whenever the cabinets happen to arrive from the manufacturer — the goal is cabinets showing up when your space is actually ready for them, not weeks early sitting in a garage or hallway.
Inspect before the delivery team leaves
Check boxes for shipping damage while the delivery team is still present, especially with brands like 802 Cabinetry that put extra emphasis on shipping protection — it's far easier to resolve an issue on the spot than after the truck has left.
Clear a staging area in advance
A full kitchen order involves a surprising number of boxes. Clear a garage, spare room, or covered area large enough to stage everything before installation begins, ideally somewhere temperature-controlled rather than an unheated space in winter.
RTA orders need extra staging space
If you ordered a ready-to-assemble line like NorthPoint, budget extra space and time for assembly before installation can begin — this is different from pre-assembled brands that install directly from the box.
Have your installer ready to go
Whether that's your own contractor or someone we can help coordinate with, having installation scheduled close to the delivery date keeps cabinets from sitting in boxes any longer than necessary, which matters most for humidity-sensitive wood products.
