Cabinet Color Trends We're Seeing in the Showroom
White kitchens aren't going anywhere, but a few new colors are showing up in more showroom conversations. Here's what homeowners are actually choosing right now.
White kitchens still make up the majority of our orders, but the second and third most-requested colors have shifted over the past year. Here's what we're actually seeing homeowners choose.
Warm, deep greens on islands
A muted, almost olive-leaning green — not the brighter sage from a few years back — is showing up as an island color paired with white or off-white perimeter cabinetry more than any other accent color right now.
Warm woods are creeping back in
After years of nearly all-painted kitchens, natural and lightly stained wood-tone doors are reappearing, usually on a single wall of upper cabinets or an island rather than the whole kitchen — a way to bring in warmth without committing to an all-wood look.
Matte black is holding steady, not growing
Matte black cabinetry had a moment, but we're not seeing it grow further — it's holding as a deliberate, smaller-share choice rather than becoming the new default the way white once was.
What this means for your decision
Trend colors are worth knowing, but they shouldn't be the only input. If you're planning to sell within five to seven years, a classic white or warm wood-tone perimeter with a trend color reserved for the island (which is easier and cheaper to repaint later) gives you both the current look and long-term flexibility.
